The Shippensburg University wrestling team dropped a pair of dual meets Tuesday at the Seton Hill Duals held at the McKenna Center in Greensburg.
 
Shippensburg (3-9, 0-4 PSAC) began the evening with a 31-9 setback to Seton Hill (4-1, 1-1) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) dual and later in the night lost a close battle to nonconference opponent Wheeling (6-1), 29-21.
 
Kyle von Schmidt, Nick Delp and Diesel Koser scored decisions in the opener.
 
Von Schmidt was victorious over Seton Hill's Jacob Braun by a 5-3 final score at 133. Delp scrambled out of several tight spots to hold on for a 6-3 decision over SHU's Christian Hirak at 165 – improving his record to 13-0 on the season, while Koser shut out the Griffins' Luke Boylan at 197, 4-0.
 
Kyler Everly and Koser highlighted the outing against the Cardinals with exciting wins at 174 and 197.
 
Everly held an early 3-2 lead over Wheeling 174-pounder Xander Kartes before surrendering a second period takedown. Everly reversed Kartes to regain the lead just moments later. He then cinched in a half nelson and turned his opponent for an emphatic pin.
 
Koser was behind Wheeling's Jaxon Burcher 5-4 on the scoreboard before recording the decisive takedown with 30 seconds remaining – capturing a 7-5 decision victory.
 
Mike Trainor and Anthony Horiates also won forfeits at 149 and 184.
 
Up next, Shippensburg will take a break from dual meets as it competes in the Ken Ober Memorial Tournament Saturday at Elizabethtown starting at 10 a.m.
