The Shippensburg University men's indoor track & field team resumed its schedule Saturday by competing at the Alvernia Winter Invitational held inside the Tom and Helen Flynn Complex for Recreation, Wellness and Health Science.

It was the team's first meet since the season opener back in late December.

Shippensburg had notable moments in the field and on the track, totaling 12 performances that achieved the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships automatic qualifying standards.

Gian Greggo continued his breakthrough season by winning the shot and the weight. His shot put of 57 feet, 6 ½ inches (17.54 meters) was an NCAA provisional qualifier that enhanced his PR and keeps him at the No. 3 spot in school history for the event. Greggo's winning weight throw traveled 59 feet, 1 ¼ inches (18.01 meters).

Jackson Sotosky joined the seven-meter club in the long jump, finishing second on a top mark of 23 feet, 1 ¾ inches (7.05 meters). His new collegiate best cracks the No. 10 spot all-time at SU.

Tommy Crum Jr. returned to the track and aced his season-debut runs, winning the 800 meters in 1:57.46 and the mile in 4:16.19. Ben Hummel joined him with a PSAC cut in the 800, impressing with a second-place time of 1:57.86, while Chase Hensinger accompanied Crum with a PSAC cut in the mile by running second in 4:23.

Garrett Quinan and Jaycen Conrad picked up PSAC qualifiers in the 5K, running respective times of 15:19.60 and 15:25.69. Raider alumnus Aiden Gonder won the 5K race as an unattached competitor, crossing the finish line in 15:07.95.

Jabrie Gaymon had a solid day in the triple jump and achieved a PSAC qualifier on a sixth-place leap of 45 feet, 7 ¾ inches (13.91 meters).

Donovan Kitchen placed fourth in the shot with a PSAC qualifier of 50 feet, 9 ¼ inches (15.47 meters) while Ridge Crispino landed a conference cut in the weight throw that traveled 50 feet, 2 ½ inches (15.30 meters).

Shippensburg returns to action next Saturday at the Art Gulden Invitational, a scored meet hosted by Bucknell.
