The Shippensburg University wrestling team split four dual meets in a busy day of wrestling Saturday at the Manganaro Duals hosted by Ursinus College.
 
Shippensburg (3-6) won their first two duals of the day against Rhode Island College, 24-17, and Albright, 25-21, before dropping a pair of decisions to the Coast Guard Academy, 41-3, and Johnson & Wales, 27-18.
 
Kyle von Schmidt and Nick Delp enjoyed standout performances over the course of the four duals.
 
The freshman von Schmidt went a perfect 4-0. He scored the Raiders only points against the Coast Guard Academy with a 5-2 decision over opponent Jake Bennett and notched a 14-1 major decision over Johnson & Wales wrestler Christopher Edel.
 
Delp, a graduate student, finished 2-0 and notched the biggest victory of the day with a 5-3 decision over Albright transfer Trent Mahoney, a former NCAA Division II All-American and 100-match winner at King's College (TN).
 
Delp scored the only takedown of the match thirty seconds into the opening frame. The two veterans traded second period reversals, and Delp's lead resulted in Mahoney's riding time advantage and subsequent point issued to the Albright wrestler's ledger to go for naught.
 
Diesel Koser picked up three bonus point victories at 197, notching a pin and two major decisions.
 
Colin Marano and Kyler Everly posted two bonus point victories at 125 and 174, respectively. Mike Trainor also picked up a pair of wins.
 
Anthony Lavish (17-7 major decision over Jordan DaCosta of Rhode Island College) and Cole Lang (1-0 decision over Juan Rodriguez of Rhode Island College) rounded out the Raider victories.
 
Up next, the Raiders make their long-awaited Heiges Field House debut when they host a conference dual against Gannon Friday at 7 p.m.
