SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team had two of its players named Tuesday to the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-District ® Team, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
Senior
Bryce Herb is an information systems & analytics major who maintained a 3.54 cumulative grade point average (GPA) during the Spring 2025 semester. Herb played in 41 games and made 34 starts for the Raiders this past spring, where he posted a .325 batting average and swiped 12 bases.
Sophomore
Ty Sherman is a biology major with a heath professional concentration who maintained a 4.0 GPA in Spring 2025. Sherman appeared in 48 games, including 41 starts on the diamond, where he compiled a .303 batting average with 14 extra base hits. He ranked third on the team with 36 runs scored.
It is the first Academic All-District ® recognition for both players.
The Academic All-District ® Team is coordinated by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Per CSC, eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
