MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team was eliminated from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament with an opening round loss to West No. 1 seed Seton Hill Wednesday afternoon at Millersville's Cooper Park, 6-5, in ten innings.
Â
Shippensburg (28-22) erased a 5-1 deficit with a four-run ninth-inning rally, but Seton Hill (36-13) delivered a two-out, walk-off hit in the tenth to advance.

Sophomore
Mason Morris laced a RBI single to give SU an early 1-0 lead and later capped the dramatic ninth-inning Raider rally with a two-out RBI double to the fence in right. The SU catcher went 2-for-5 Wednesday and drove in a pair of runs.
Â
Graduate
Jaxon Dalena was outstanding early, recording five strikeouts and allowing just one hit through four innings.
Â
Despite more soft contact, Seton Hill rallied for two runs off Dalena in the fifth. Jakob Haynes drove in the Griffins' first run with a sacrifice fly, and Jack Whelan followed with a bloop hit to put the Griffins in front, 2-1.
Â
Seton Hill put the first two batters aboard once again in the sixth courtesy of an infield single and a bunt single. Dalena was on the cusp of getting out of the jam, but a two-out, two-strike double from Haynes extended the advantage to three, and Joe Fiedor followed with an RBI hit to make it a 5-1 Seton Hill lead.
Â
Seton Hill starter Jon McCullough held the Raiders to just a single run through eight frames, and went back to the hill for the ninth searching for a complete game.

Shippensburg freshman
Will Oates and senior
Bryce Herb greeted the Griffin starter by reaching base – Oates on a error and Herb on a single through the right side.
Â
McCullogh was lifted from the game, but the Raiders continued to rally against the SHU bullpen. Freshman
Evan Shoffler singled to load the bases, and junior
Mike Heckman followed with a RBI single to make it a 5-2 game.
Â
Senior
Carter Hinds and senior
Gio Calamia added RBI groundouts to close the gap further.
Â
With two-outs and the tying run in scoring position, Morries ripped a 2-0 pitch from SHU's Zach Herb over the head of the right fielder to tie the score, 5-5.
Â
Junior
Jack Robinson got two big outs to pitch around a leadoff single from the Griffins in the bottom of the frame, sending the game to extras.
Â
After Shippensburg failed to score in the top of the tenth, Seton Hill's Mark Black led off the bottom of the tenth with a walk and came around to score on Haynes' clutch two-out single back through the middle to end it.
Â
Heckman went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for the Raiders. Herb and Shoffler each added two hits and a run.
Â
Dalena finished with five strikeouts over six frames, giving him 99 for the season (tied for fifth most in SU single season history).

Shippensburg, the No. 7 team in the third and final edition of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Rankings, will hope its name is called during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show set for Sunday, May 11.
