SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's outdoor track & field team heads to Slippery Rock this week for the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will take place Thursday through Saturday at Bill Lennox Track at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
Pertinent meet information, including live coverage options, ticket links and a meet schedule, is available by accessing Slippery Rock's Championships page linked above. The Rock athletic communications office is facilitating first-rate video coverage of this week's championships that will be available on the PSAC Network.
Unlike previous seasons, Shippensburg is not the predominant favorite on paper. To continue its championship streak, the Raiders will have to fend off hard-charging East Stroudsburg as well as host Slippery Rock. Each of the three schools has a legitimate chance to claim either the blue or the red trophy.
SU won nine individual events at last year's championships and will have the opportunity to defend six of those titles this season. Those graduated are
Drew Dailey (800 meters),
Mo Whittle (triple jump) and
Josh Herbster (hammer).
Junior
Garrett Quinan, the 2024 PSAC Outdoor Championships Most Valuable Athlete, will be seeking title defenses in both the 5K and 10K. He enters the meet as the No. 2 seed in both events.
Graduate
Ian Sherlock, the 2024 PSAC Outdoor Championships Outstanding Track Athlete will look to defend his titles in the steeplechase and the 1,500 meters. He enters the meet as the top seed in the steeplechase and the No. 2 seed in the 1,500 meters.
Senior
Mason Boyd is a two-time defending champion in the decathlon who enters the meet as the top seed. This year's multi competition figures to be among the best in league history, as each of the Top 6 seeds have scored at least 6,400 points this season. For context, only once in league history (2011) has each of the All-PSAC (Top 3) finishers in the decathlon scored at least 6,500 points.
Senior
Robbie Hrabosky II will look to go back-to-back in the 400-meter hurdles and enters as the top seed.
SU has five additional Top 3 seeds:
Gabriel Lewis (No. 2 seed in 100),
Quinton Townsend (No. 2 seed in 400),
Jeovaughni Daniel (No. 3 seed in 110-meter hurdles),
Travis Wilk (No. 2 seed in 400-meter hurdles) and
Donovan Kitchen (No. 3 seed in discus).
Overall, the Raiders enter the meet with 30 projected scorers (Top 8 seeds) based on the accepted entries released Tuesday night.
Shippensburg is down 13 entries from last season (58 this year compared to 71 in 2024) and its participant total is down by four (40 this year compared to 44 in 2024). However, all but six members of the team will be in competition this week, and four of those six not in action are injured.
SU enters this year's meet having won 15 consecutive PSAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships and 31 overall – most among league schools.
