SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University softball team earned the No. 4 seed in the 2025 NCAA Division II Softball Championships on Monday and will travel to No. 1 seed East Stroudsburg (46-10-1) for the Atlantic 1 Regional pod that includes No. 5 seed West Chester (32-17) and No. 8 seed Bowie State (27-14).
Â
Shippensburg (31-20) earned its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The Atlantic Regional 1 pod is almost the exact same as last year; the Raiders are the No. 4 seed this year after being the No. 5 seed last year, and West Chester replaces Kutztown as SU's first-round opponent.
Â
Kutztown (39-16) is the Atlantic Region's No. 2 seed and will host the Atlantic 2 Regional that features No. 3 Shepherd (28-22-1), No. 6 Bloomsburg (31-19) and No. 7 Charleston (36-15).
Â
This is the second straight year that six of the eight teams selected for the Atlantic Regional are from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
Â
It is the first known occurrence that each of the top six teams in the regional tournament are from the same division (PSAC East).
Â
More tournament information will be available this week.
