SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Three members of the Shippensburg University baseball team were selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Atlantic Region Baseball Team Wednesday.
Â
Graduate starting pitcher
Jaxon Dalena and senior outfielder
Gio Calamia were chosen for the First Team. Sophomore catcher
Mason Morris was named to the Second Team.
Â
It is the third and final All-Region team to be released following the 2025 season and the third First Team All-Region recognition for Dalena, having previously been named to the All-Atlantic Region First Team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and the Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
Â
It is the third All-Region honor for Calamia this spring, who was also chosen to the 2025 NCBWA and D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team, while Morris had previously been named Second Team All-Region by the D2CCA.
Â
Dalena, the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Pitcher of the Year and All-PSAC East First Team selection, topped the Atlantic Region in strikeouts (99) – a total that ranked 12th-best in the nation and fifth all-time in SU single season history.
Â
He ranked top-five in the region in numerous additional categories, including games started (T-2nd, 14), complete games (2nd, five), victories (T-4th, eight) and strikeouts per nine innings (4th, 10.73). His 3.36 ERA ranked 11th in the region.
Â
It is his second time being named ABCA/Rawlings All-Region, having been named to the Second Team in 2024.
Â
Calamia concluded the 2025 regular season tied for third in the Atlantic Region in total hits (66) and fifth in the region in total bases (111).
Â
The SU center fielder also finished tied for fourth regionally with four triples and paced the region with seven sacrifice flies. A 2025 All-PSAC East First Team selection, Calamia is one of just 33 players in program history to reach 100 career RBI.
Â
Morris started 40 of SU's 50 games at catcher yet still managed to post a team-best .361 batting average, including a .398 clip during SU's regular season conference slate.
Â
He ranked 10th in the Atlantic Region in on base percentage (.476) and led the Raiders in on-base plus slugging (OPS) at 1.009.
Â
Calamia and Morris were previously named to the 2025 All-PSAC East First Team. It is his first time receiving All-Region recognition from ABCA/Rawlings for both players.
Â
Atlantic Region batting average leader Jacob Houtz of Mansfield (.439) was tabbed the ABCA/Rawlings Atlantic Region Position Player of the Year, while Region Pitcher of the Year honors went to ERA leader Ian Korn of Seton Hill (1.81).
