Noah Bankert and Terrence Steele finished up the decathlon Friday as they represented the Shippensburg University men's outdoor track & field team at the Susquehanna River Hawk Multi.
 
Bankert finished in 10th place with a score of 5,009 points. Steele placed 14th with a score of 4,660 points to complete his debut outdoor multi.
 
For Bankert, his score was a personal best by 106 points. It was his third collegiate decathlon.
 
Among the highlights on the day for Bankert included the sixth-best marks in the pole vault (11 feet, 5 ¾ inches [3.50 meters]) and the javelin (132 feet, 10 inches [40.50 meters]). Bankert's pole vault clear was a huge personal best by six inches. Steele cleared 10 feet, 10 inches (3.30 meters) in his first outdoor pole vault and threw the javelin 130 feet, 7 inches (39.80 meters).
 
Shippensburg begins three days of competition at Bucknell tomorrow at noon. The Bison Outdoor Classic takes place Saturday through Monday at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
