Noah Bankert and
Terrence Steele represented the Shippensburg University men's outdoor track & field team on a wet and dreary Thursday afternoon by completing the first half of the decathlon at the Susquehanna River Hawk Multi.

Through five events, Bankert is in 10th place out of 16 competitors in the "orange" section of the decathlon with a score of 2,771 points. Steele is in 13th place with a score of 2,680 points.

Bankert came close to his PR in the 100 meters, posting the seventh-fastest time of the competition with a run of 11.72 seconds. His best long jump was 18 feet, 10 ½ inches (5.75 meters) and he set a new personal best in the shot put.

Steele, competing in his first outdoor multi, completed the 100, long jump and high jump for the first time this outdoor season. His shot put of 34 feet, 2 ½ inches (10.42 meters) was the No. 5 mark in the competition.

The two men return to competition at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
