SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's outdoor track & field team opened its season Saturday with a home rust buster, hosting Bucknell, Lehigh, Saint Francis and East Stroudsburg for the 2025 Keystone Challenge at Seth Grove Stadium.

The Raiders won six events on the day – four on the track and two in the field. Among the highlights off the top included Gabriel Lewis winning the 100 meters with a time of 10.59 seconds that puts him into a four-way tie for fifth in SU history for the event with Eric Kirk, Roland Miles and Lavar Jackson.

Robbie Hrabosky II crossed the finish line first in the 400-meter hurdles, running 54.43 seconds, while Ian Sherlock won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:23.88.

The three performances were among 16 individual efforts on the day that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships automatic qualifying standards.

Hrabosky, Travis Wilk (second place, 55.58 seconds) and Josef Book (fourth place, 56.39 seconds) met the league standard in the 400 hurdles while Jeovaughni Daniel (third place, 14.82 seconds), Book (fourth place, 15.18 seconds) and Bernard Bell III (fifth place, 15.21 seconds) did so in the 110-meter high hurdles.

Three men made their Raider debuts in the javelin and delivered conference cuts – with Jackson Hersh leading the field with an impressive NCAA provisional qualifier of 201 feet, 2 inches (61.31 meters). Mason Pretopapa notched a throw of 181 feet, 9 inches (55.39 meters) while freshman Aiden Zimmerman cracked the Top 5 with a mark of 175 feet, 1 inch (53.36 meters).

Ridge Crispino claimed top honors in the hammer throw, delivering a top toss of 175 feet, 9 inches (53.57 meters). Donovan Kitchen landed two PSAC qualifiers, pacing the Raiders in the shot (fifth place, 50 feet, 7 ½ inches [15.43 meters]) and the discus (third place, 160 feet, 2 inches [48.82 meters]). Colin Melhorn landed a PSAC qualifier in the shot with a put of 44 feet, 9 ¾ inches (14.89 meters).

Also in the field, Michael Kadziela cleared the high jump bar at 6 feet, 4 ¾ inches (1.95 meters) for a conference qualifier.

Jae Galloway satisfied the PSAC standard in the 200 meters with a second-place time of 21.86 seconds. Bell III, Galloway, Logan Rodkey and Lewis combined for the victory in the 4x100-meter relay, running 41.95 seconds.

Shippensburg is back in action next weekend with Friday and Saturday competition at Lynchburg.
