SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team scored in seven of its eight at-bats on Tuesday in a 19-1 victory over Lincoln in a non-conference game at Fairchild Field.

Shippensburg (5-3) totaled 22 hits – 18 singles and four doubles – en route to the victory. Eleven different Raiders had at least one hit, with sophomore right fielder

Mike Heckman and graduate first baseman
Carter Arbuthnot each collecting three on the day.

SU scored a run in the first and four in the second to lead 5-0 early. Lincoln (1-2) starter Jaden Greenidge battled through the first five innings, allowing eight runs (five earned), but a seven-run outburst in the sixth against Lion reliever Pedro Santos catapulted the Raiders into double digits for the day.

Seniors
Carter Hinds and
Gio Calamia combined for three hits and five runs atop the Raider order. Hinds was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs scored. Calamia was 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base, two sacrifice flies and two runs scored.

Senior
Bryce Herb and Arbuthnot each had four RBIs. Herb, who entered the game in the fourth inning, was 2-for-3 with a double while Arbuthnot reached base four times (a double, two singles and a hit-by-pitch) and scored three runs. Sophomore
Mason Morris, who entered midway through the game, walked in all three of his plate appearances and scored twice.

Freshman
Evan Shoffler and Sherman also had doubles. Shoffler's two hits were the first of his collegiate career; he finished with a team-high four runs scored. Sherman had two RBIs and a run scored. Junior
AJ Wenrich had two singles and an RBI. Heckman's three hits included an RBI-single.

Three Raider pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts. SU planned to use multiple pitchers and as a result, sophomore
Conner Barto got the win as the opening pitcher and struck out six in three innings. Freshman
Jacob Dennis allowed just one hit in three scoreless innings and struck out five. Freshman
Cole Snyder recorded a three-inning save; he struck out three and allowed just one hit, one walk and one run.

Shippensburg will host Slippery Rock this weekend for a three-game series. The two teams will play a nine-inning game at 2 p.m. Friday.
