The Shippensburg University men's indoor track & field team picked up multiple new bests Friday at the 2025 Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational hosted by Liberty University at its state-of-the-art Indoor Track Complex.
Aiden Gonder became the first Raider to run a second 5K this season, completing his distance run in 14:56.85. It is a new indoor PR by 15 seconds for Gonder, and as a point of comparison, his previous PR (15:11.42) resulted in a second-place finish at the 2022 PSAC Championships. It moves him up to third on the league leaderboard pending other results this weekend.
Garrett Quinan and
Ryan Wolfe completed several circuits around the track as well with competition in the 3K. Quinan ran 8:24.06, just a couple seconds off his league-leading pace set last week at Penn State, while Wolfe ran 8:30.74 for an unconverted season best. Wolfe remains the third seed on the league leaderboard.
Quinton Townsend achieved his Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) automatic qualifier in the 400 meters by running a season best of 49.46 seconds. Townsend, who missed the 2024 indoor season due to injury, ran nine-tenths of a second faster than his previous season best set last week at Penn State. His time is just three-tenths of a second behind his collegiate best set two years ago on the Boston track.
Three throwers heaved the weight.
Gian Greggo made it two straight weeks with a PR in the weight throw, posting a top mark of 53 feet, 5 ¼ inches (16.29 meters).
Ridge Crispino landed a top throw of 52 feet, 2 ¾ inches (15.92 meters), while
Donovan Kitchen improved his PR to 49 feet, 8 ¼ inches (15.15 meters). All three men remain automatically qualified for the conference championships.
Jeovaughni Daniel completed the semifinals of the 60-meter hurdles in 8.22 seconds, just .04 seconds off his season best, after running 8.29 seconds in prelims.
Gabriel Lewis paced the Raiders in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.91 seconds in the semifinals after running 6.92 seconds in prelims.
Lavar Jackson crossed the finish line in 7.21 seconds.
Mason Boyd came close to his season best in the long jump; his top mark Friday was 21 feet, 11 ¾ inches (6.70 meters).
Action resumes at 9:45 a.m. tomorrow.
