The Shippensburg University men's swimming team resumed its competition schedule Friday night with the first of three timed finals sessions at Gettysburg's annual Invitational.
 
Robbie Ferlick paced six Raiders who surpassed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) automatic qualifying standard in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing second in 21.13 seconds. Ferlick was only bested by Dickinson sophomore Samson Qu's radical time of 20.20 seconds.
 
Josh Einolf (21.47 seconds), Mason Hockenberry (21.60 seconds), Connor Ludwig (21.61 seconds), Mason Koeth (21.63 seconds) and Cooper Mercer (22.50 seconds) also notched PSAC cuts.
 
Koeth paced the Raiders in the 500-yard freestyle with a ninth-place time of 4:49.05. He was one of four Raiders in the event with PSAC cuts – Ian Deck and Ethan Dismuke finished within .05 seconds of each other (4:51.82 and 4:51.87) while Carter Hawkes swam 4:54.08.
 
Josh Wall led the SU contingent in the 200-yard individual medley (IM) with a fifth-place time of 1:57.51.
 
Kevin Noldy, Hockenberry, Ludwig and Ferlick teamed up for a fourth-place time of 1:24.81 in the 200-yard freestyle relay, while Koeth, Kiran George, Einolf and Ferlick swam 3:28.66 in the 400-yard medley relay.
 
Shippensburg continues competition at the Gettysburg Invitational Saturday with timed finals sessions at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
