SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team suffered its second loss to Bowie State in the span of 12 days Friday evening, dropping a 71-37 decision at Heiges Field House.

Kiara Hardy scored a career-high 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting (44 percent) and tallied three steals to lead the way for the Raiders.
Bowie State (6-1) exhibited a balanced offensive attack that saw 12 different players score. Reserve guard Hannah Wilkerson netted a game-high 14 points. She scored all of her points in the first half and finished a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range.
Wilkerson scored 30 points against Shippensburg at Heiges Field House as a member of the Clarion Golden
Eagles last season.
Shippensburg freshman guard
Riley Watson, playing in the first extended minutes of her career, scored her first career basket and dished out a career-best two assists in 12 minutes of action. Sophomores
Abbie Johns and
Michelle Olak contributed seven points apiece.
Bulldog reserve guard Taylor Timms scored nine points in just seven second-half minutes.
The two teams combined for just nine free throws through three quarters before going to the line 24 times in the fourth quarter. Bowie State converted 15-of-21 from the stripe overall (71.4 percent), while Shippensburg finished 7-of-12 (58.3 percent).
Shippensburg previously suffered an 83-54 loss on the Bulldogs' home court back on Nov. 25.
The Raiders wrap up the nonconference portion of their schedule Saturday, December 15 at Pitt-Johnstown. Tip-off against the Mountain Cats is set for 1 p.m.
