PSAC Dixon Trophy Standings

PSAC announces 2025-26 Dixon Trophy standings through fall

12/4/2025 2:30:00 PM

Shippensburg University currently ranks sixth in the competition for the 29th annual Dixon Trophy through the completion of the 2025 fall championship season. The Dixon Trophy is awarded to the top overall athletics program in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

The Dixon Trophy standings are based on an average score for every PSAC Championship sport that an institution sponsors. It is based on where each sport finishes in its divisional standings.

Shippensburg's average finish is 10.36 points. It is the exact same average that SU had in the Fall 2024 update.

Eight fall sports were used in the first PSAC report, of which SU sponsors seven: men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, football, field hockey and volleyball. Men's golf was also used in the PSAC's fall standings.

SU's highest-scoring sports were men's cross country and field hockey, which won conference championships.

The trophy is named after F. Eugene Dixon Jr., former chairman of the Board of Governors of the State System of Higher Education, of which 14 universities in the PSAC are members. The presentation of the Dixon Trophy will take place after the spring sports season.

Shippensburg has won the Dixon Trophy a conference-record eight times and was the first school to claim the trophy three years in-a-row, capturing it in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

Seven PSAC Championships will be contested in the 2025-26 winter season: men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's indoor track & field and wrestling. The next update of the Dixon Trophy standings will be released following the basketball championships in March.
