SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University currently ranks 25th in the 2025-26 Division II Learfield Directors' Cup standings through the completion of the fall academic calendar.
The Learfield Directors' Cup, originated in 1995-96, gauges the top programs at the NCAA Division II level based on their finishes at national championships throughout the season.
The initial update includes scoring from NCAA Championships that occurred this fall. SU received the maximum amount of points for its field hockey national championship as well as additional points for its 17th-place finish at the men's cross country championships.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's NCAA Championship finishes in up to 14 sports -- seven women's and seven men's.
Shippensburg's best overall finish in the Learfield Sports Directors Cup Standings came in 2012-13, when the Raiders finished eighth in the nation with 584 points.
