The Shippensburg University men's swimming team continued its weekend at the 2025 Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Saturday by stockpiling 19 more Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships cuts in action at the McGinness Pool located inside the Kunkel Aquatic Center.
Josh Einolf and
Mason Koeth each posted a Top 3 finish on the day. Einolf took third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.99 seconds, which is just .38 seconds off his personal-best pace that ranks second in school history. He remains one of just two Raiders to break 50 seconds in the 100 fly.
Koeth, the school record holder in the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.25), took second in the event with a time of 1:41.79. It was part of a banner effort in the event for the Raiders, as
Josh Wall won the 'B' consolation final with a time of 1:43.57 and
Connor Ludwig won the 'C' pre-consolation final with a huge PR of 1:44.95.
Robbie Ferlick was 12th in 1:44.26 and
Ian Deck swam 1:484.38 as five of the six Raiders to swim the event had a PSAC cut.
Meanwhile, all six SU men who competed in the 100-yard butterfly had a PSAC cut.
Joe Herman took 14th place in 51.71 seconds and
Alex Kissinger finished 22nd in 51.75 seconds – those efforts were just three-tenths of a second shy of cracking the all-time SU Top 10 in the event.
Mason Hockenberry had a time of 52.74 seconds;
Carter Hawkes swam 53.29 seconds and
Luke Roettger had a PR of 53.68 seconds.
Herman returned to be the Raider pacesetter in the 100-yard backstroke. He reached the 'A' championship final with a morning prelims time of 52.42 seconds that was just .09 seconds from putting him on the SU all-time Top 10 list for the event. In finals, Herman placed eighth in 52.94 seconds.
Kye Winslow finished 19th overall with a time of 53.88 seconds in the 'C' final after swimming 53.58 seconds in the morning. Three other Raiders nabbed PSAC cuts – Koeth (54.36),
Kevin Noldy (54.70) and
Cooper Mercer (54.83).
Kiran George broke 60 seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke, placing 18th in 59.62 seconds, while Einolf took 23rd on a time of 1:00.52.
Nate Wauls also nabbed a conference championships qualifier in the event by swimming 1:00.92.
Saturday's session begins at 9:30 a.m.
