The Shippensburg University men's swimming team started out at the 2025 Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Friday by compiling 15 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships cuts in action at the McGinness Pool located inside the Kunkel Aquatic Center.
 
Shippensburg took to the pool in three individual events and two relays, with arguably the most exciting moment of the day coming in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The quartet of Kevin Noldy, Mason Koeth, Connor Ludwig and Robbie Ferlick tied Bloomsburg for second place in the event with a terrific time of 1:23.24.
 
The four men were among nine Raiders who met the PSAC Championships qualifying standards in the individual event. Ferlick took fourth in the 'A' final with a sterling effort of 20.86 seconds – just .14 seconds off his personal best that ranks second all-time in SU history.
 
Noldy took 10th in 21.22 seconds (just .16 seconds off his PR that is tied for fourth in school history), Ludwig was 15th in 21.60 seconds and Koeth 19th in 21.52 seconds.
 
The others to notch a PSAC cut were Josh Wall (21.76), Mason Hockenberry (21.79), Kye Winslow (21.84), Joe Herman (22.15) and Cooper Mercer (22.31).
 
Among the distance swimmers, Ian Deck, Ethan Dismuke and Carter Hawkes achieved PSAC qualifiers in the 500-yard freestyle. Deck finished 21st, improving by two seconds in his finals swim with a time of 4:53.26. Dismuke was 24th in 4:56.17 and Hawkes touched the wall in 4:56.93.
 
Josh Einolf paced four Raiders in the 200-yard individual medley (IM) with a 12th-place time of 1:56.28 in the finals after going a little bit faster in the morning prelims (1:55.99). Alex Kissinger was 15th in 1:5.46 and Wall was 16th in 1:57.68.
 
Koeth, Kiran George, Einolf and Ferlick formed a fifth-place 400-yard medley relay that swam 3:27.63.
 
Shippensburg is in fourth place after Day 1 with a total of 265 points. The Raiders are 48 points ahead of last year's pace through the first day of the meet.
