SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University football team could not overcome a second-half surge by regionally-ranked California (Pa.) as it dropped a 35-10 decision to the Vulcans in the 2025 season finale at Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium.

Shippensburg (3-8) and California (8-3) were 7-3 at halftime and 14-3 through three quarters before the visitors scored three touchdowns in a five-minute span of the fourth quarter to pull away.

SU totaled 18 first downs compared to 17 for the Vulcans but managed just 227 yards of offense on 76 plays (3.0 yards per play). The Raiders committed two costly turnovers in the decisive stretch and were sacked seven times overall.

On its final drive of the season,
Vincent Micucci connected with
Derek Guzman for a five-yard touchdown pass.
Wilson Ingerski kicked a 28-yard field goal on the final play of the first half.

Riley Gunnels and Micucci combined to go 25-of-40 for 151 yards.
Jaevon Parker impressed with seven catches for 70 yards.
Andre Weidman had 13 carries for 64 yards.

Cal quarterback Roman Purcell was 18-of-31 for 168 yards; he threw two touchdowns and had one pass intercepted by
Tyler Marshall. Kendrick Agenor had 79 yards on the ground and two scores.

The Vulcans finished with 14.0 tackles-for-loss (TFLs). Alexie Sangster Jr. led all players with 15 tackles, including 2.5 TFLs (2.0 sacks).

Nate Myers added two more TFLs to his season total (14.5).

Saturday's game also marked the final contest for head coach Mark 'Mac' Maciejewski, who announced his retirement on Monday. Maciejewski spent 32 years at Shippensburg University as a player or coach. He compiled an 88-69 record in 15 years (14 seasons) as the Raider head coach from 2011-25.
