SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's cross country team has been ranked at No. 27 in the latest edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II National Poll released Wednesday afternoon.

Shippensburg is one of just two teams from the Atlantic Region featured in the national coaches poll along with No. 29 Charleston – the Golden Eagles finished two points behind the Raiders at last week's regional championships.

It is the fifth time this season that Shippensburg has been nationally ranked. SU was No. 24 in the preseason poll, No. 22 in Week 1, No. 23 in Week 2 and No. 30 in Week 4. The Raiders were one spot out of the Top 30 in each of the last two weeks.

The Raiders won their fifth Atlantic Region Championship this past Saturday, accompanying titles in 2009, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Head Coach Steve Spence's squad has now qualified for the national championships in each of the last three seasons.

Shippensburg will be making its 24th NCAA Men's Cross Country National Championships appearance when it travels next week to Kenosha, Wisconsin. The 10K race will be held Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course and be hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside.
