SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's swimming team wrapped up its second competition in as many days Saturday by hosting first-year program Pitt-Johnstown for a dual meet at Donald N. Miller Pool.
 
Shippensburg served as the host for what was basically a friendly, as the Mountain Cats currently have two women's swimmers and two men's swimmers. There were no relays as a result, and the majority of the Raider swims were recorded as exhibitions.
 
Among the most impressive swims of the day came in the 200-yard butterfly, where Josh Wall and Alex Kissinger each posted times that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships qualifying standards. Wall finished first in 2:02.44 while Kissinger was just .46 seconds behind.
 
Robbie Ferlick and Mason Hockenberry broke the 50-second mark in the 100-yard freestyle; Ferlick's time of 48.15 seconds is a PSAC cut.
 
Wall also had the fastest time in the 50-yard freestyle, a PSAC cut of 21.84 seconds.
 
Joe Herman paced four Raiders in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.90 seconds and completed the 200-yard individual medley in 2:09.26. Nate Wauls delivered the top time in the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming 1:03.87.
 
Carter Hawkes edged Luke Roettger by .02 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.36 seconds. Roettger had a busy afternoon; he swam the 100 fly just a couple of minutes after completing the 100 breaststroke and later competed in the 100 freestyle.
 
Mason Koeth led the field in the 200-yard backstroke by swimming 2:03.97, while Kiran George delivered a time of 2:21.53 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
 
Shippensburg returns to action Friday, Nov. 7 at Clarion.
