SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University's Dave Osanitsch has been named the 2024 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Region Men's Outdoor Coach of the Year. Voting is conducted by the region's head coaches.
 
Shippensburg won the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship, its 15th straight league title, by scoring in all 21 events to total an incredible 246.83 points that resulted in a 98.5-point victory margin.
 
SU won nine events (all five distance events, one sprint, one jump, one throw, and the multi) and scored 70 more points than at last year's conference meet. The Raiders had 20 All-PSAC (Top 3) individual finishers (15 on track, five in field).
 
In further displays of Shippensburg's balance, multiple Raiders scored in 13 of the meet's 21 events, and SU scored 10 or more points in 13 of the 21 events as well (two sprints, two hurdles, five distance races, multi, two throws, one jump). Three or more Raiders scored in five events.
 
Two Shippensburg competitors made it to the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championships, and both came away with All-America First Team honors: Drew Dailey (fifth in 800) and Josh Herbster (third in hammer).
 
This is Osanitsch's seventh USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Men's Outdoor Coach of the Year Award, accompanying previous recognition in 2023, 2022, 2021, 2019, 2015 and 2006.
