SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University senior Drew Dailey was named the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year on Thursday afternoon.

Dailey earned USTFCCCA All-America First Team honors in the 800 meters at this year's NCAA Division II National Championships, posting a fifth-place finish of 1:50.40.

At the 2024 PSAC Championships, Dailey won his third career conference title in the 800 meters and anchored an All-PSAC second-place finish for the team's 4x400-meter relay.

Dailey's fifth-place finish at nationals was his highest in four career NCAA 800-meter runs. He previously earned All-America Second Team honors during the 2024 indoor season (10th place).

His outdoor PR remains the Shippensburg University record: 1:48.67 at the 2022 Bucknell Team Challenge. That time is just a tenth of a second shy of the all-time PSAC record set by IUP's Sean Strauman in 2008.

Dailey is the first Raider to be named the PSAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year since Charles Bowman Jr. in 2019. He is the fourth Raider to ever receive the honor, joining Bowman Jr., Dru Adighibe (2016) and Eric Bologa (2015). The conference shifted to separate Track Athlete of the Year and Field Athlete of the Year honors in 2006 after previously recognizing a lone Athlete of the Year. From 1990-2005, the only Raider named the PSAC Men's Outdoor Athlete of the Year was Randy Lowe in 1991 and 1992.

It is the second PSAC Outdoor major award of Dailey's career: he was honored as the PSAC Men's Outdoor Rookie of the Year in 2021.
