SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University softball team earned the No. 5 seed in the 2024 NCAA Division II Softball Championships on Monday and will travel to No. 1 seed East Stroudsburg (45-15) for the Atlantic 1 Regional pod that includes No. 4 seed Kutztown (33-22) and No. 8 seed Bowie State (20-21).

The Raiders (33-19) earned their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and fourth overall since 2013-14.

Charleston (45-4) is the Atlantic Region's No. 3 seed and will host the Atlantic 2 Regional that features No. 2 West Chester (34-20), No. 6 Bloomsburg (33-22), and No. 7 Gannon (31-13).

This is the first time since 2014 that six of the eight teams selected for the Atlantic Regional are from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

This is the first time that five teams from the PSAC Eastern Division since the league adopted its current two-division format in 2014. Five current Eastern Division schools made the 2013 regional tournament when the PSAC operated in a three-division format.
