CARLISLE, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's swimming team garnered nine total individual scoring performances and a pair of new all-time top ten performances on the final day of competition at the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, finishing in sixth place after competition wrapped at the Keystone Aquatic Center.

Freshman Jazz Barry delivered another Top 10 performance in school history in the evening session, swimming the 100-yard freestyle in the pre-consolation 'C' final. Barry took 18th overall with a time of 52.52, lowering her personal best by .34 seconds. She entered the top ten in the event, debuting in fifth.

Senior Alyssa Tomb and freshman Charlee Shaw both reached the championship 'A' final of the 200-yard breaststroke, with Tomb taking fifth overall with a time of 2:24.11. For Tomb, it becomes her fourth straight scoring performance in the event, with all four placing in the Top 12 each year (8th in 2023, 12th in 2022, 8th in 2021).

Shaw swam a 2:26.57 in the morning to qualify eighth for the evening and entered the top ten in the event at tenth. Her eighth-place finish at night saw her drop more time to go 2:26.00, moving her into ninth in school history. Both times were improvements to her personal best, which came at the 2023 F&M Invitational.

Juniors Gracie Wetzel and Emily Newton also competed in finals in the 200-yard breaststroke, with Wetzel competing in the consolation 'B' final and Newton in the 'C' final. Wetzel placed 16th overall and Newton placed 22nd, her third straight 22nd place finish. Wetzel delivered a personal best with a morning swim of 2:29.48, bettering her previous best by over a second set back in 2022 at Gettysburg.

Senior Allie Keeling had a strong 1,650-yard freestyle in the morning, swimming a 17:44.85 that placed her second going into the fastest heat at night, and placing eighth overall in the event. It is Keeling's third straight scoring performance, taking 10th last year and 12th in 2022.
