SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University women's basketball team fell to No. 6 Gannon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest Saturday afternoon at Heiges Field House, 78-44.

Abbie Miller notched her fifth career double-double, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds, but the Raiders shot just 22 percent from the field overall against the Golden Knights' suffocating defense.
Gannon (12-1, 4-0) shot 54 percent from the field and outscored the Raiders 34-to-8 inside the paint. Bri Claxton led the way, totaling 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting and three assists.
Despite falling behind 9-0 early, Shippensburg was able to hang tough against the nationally-ranked Golden Knights during the first 20 minutes.
A hook shot converted by Miller made it a four-point game, 11-7, five minutes into the opening frame, and a three-point make from senior
Taja Colbert cut the Raider deficit to just ten, 24-14, in the opening stages of the second quarter.
Gannon led SU 38-19 at halftime before opening a commanding third quarter lead. The Golden Knights outscored SU in the frame 20-5.
Carissa Dunham went 4-for-7 (57%) from three-point range for Gannon, posting 13 points.
Colbert added 12 points for the Raiders, including a career-high three made threes. She shot 75% from beyond the arc for the game (3-for-4). Freshman
McKenzie Thomas finished with eight.
After taking a break for finals, SU returns to action Saturday, Dec. 21 with a home clash against Clarion. Tip-off from Heiges Field House is set for 1 p.m.
