The Shippensburg University women's basketball team dropped a neutral-site game Saturday to Texas A&M-Kingsville, 52-38, to wrap up its stay at the St. Mary's (Texas) Thanksgiving Classic.
Shippensburg (3-5) could not solve the Texas A&M-Kingsville (5-2) defense, as the Raiders scored just 22 points through the first three quarters. The Javelinas scored 17 points off 23 Raider turnovers and made six three-pointers to SU's one.
Sophomore
Bella Chimienti was the lone Raider in double figures, finishing with 10 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Chimienti played all 40 minutes in the game.
Freshman
Rylee Kraft scored a career-high nine points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field. Sophomore
Alexis Buie had eight points and six rebounds; she was 6-of-8 from the free-throw line. Senior
Abbie Miller finished with six points, four rebounds and three assists.
Kingsville got 13 points and five assists from Abby Bala, while Shelby Ray had 11 points and six rebounds.
Shippensburg returns to action at 3 p.m. Friday when it hosts Pitt-Johnstown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover at Heiges Field House.
