SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The No. 1-seeded Shippensburg University field hockey team will host No. 8 seed (and No. 10-ranked) Limestone in an NCAA Division II Quarterfinal at 12 p.m. Saturday at Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship last Sunday, 1-0 in overtime, to claim an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Likewise, Limestone won the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Championship on Sunday, 1-0, by winning a 1v1 shootout over Mount Olive after 80 scoreless minutes. It earned the Saints an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Saturday will mark the first NCAA Tournament game played at Shippensburg since 2018; it was an NCAA Quarterfinal in which the Raiders defeated Merrimack, 4-1.

* Shippensburg is 6-0 all-time against Limestone.
* This will be the first time that the two teams have played at Robb Sports Complex; five of the six previous matchups have taken place at neutral sites.
* The two teams last met in 2022 at Limestone; the Raiders won that game 9-0.

* Shippensburg is in the NCAA Tournament for the 17th time in school history (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024).
* Shippensburg is 17-12 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and has won five NCAA Division II national titles (2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021).
* Shippensburg has won six total national championships – the team's first national championship in school history came in 1979, when the Raiders claimed the AIAW Division III national championship to complete a 16-2-3 season that included a school-record 14 shutouts.
* Shippensburg has lost two consecutive NCAA Tournament matches after compiling a streak of 11 straight NCAA Tournament victories that stretched from 2016-22.
