SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's swimming team dropped its Senior Day meet against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent Clarion, 115-70, Friday evening at Donald N. Miller Pool.

The Raiders (3-3) top finisher was graduate JC Greenwood, who finished in the top two in both of his individual events. Greenwood started off by placing second in the 200-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 1:48.91 that satisfied the PSAC qualifying standard (1:49.17).

Greenwood returned in the 500-yard freestyle, having a race with Clarion's (3-0) George Horey that came down to the finish. Greenwood out-touched Horey with a time of 4:57.90 to 4:58.14, with both swims were under the PSAC standard (4:59.96).

Freestyle swimming was the top stroke for the Raiders, as sophomores Robbie Ferlick and Mason Koeth both picked up victories in the sprint freestyle events. Ferlick swam a 21.79 in the 50-yard freestyle, barely beating Golden Eagle Austin Prokopec by 0.04 seconds. Koeth took the pool in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming a 47.81 to win the event. Both performances were under the PSAC standard (22.53 in the 50, 49.19 in the 100).

Senior David Johnson picked up a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM, swimming a 2:03.42. Freshman Josh Einolf also picked up a second-place finish for the Raiders, swimming the 100-yard butterfly in 52.93 seconds, dipping under the PSAC mark (53.92).

Koeth and Ferlick took part in both "A" relays for the Raiders, both taking second place. Koeth, senior Nathan VanNatter, Ferlick, and Einolf swam the 400-yard medley relay in 3:35.14 to open the meet, and Koeth, Ferlick, junior Kevin Noldy, and VanNatter concluded the meet in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:27.48.
