RECAP: Tennis competes on first day of Bloomsburg’s fall tournament

The Shippensburg University women's tennis team competed Saturday at Bloomsburg's fall "flighted" tournament in both doubles and singles competition.
 
SU had strong results in doubles to start the day. Senior Brooklynn Rupert and sophomore Ava Kalist had a 6-1 win over ESU in the No. 2 flight, while sophomore Brinley Orris and senior Kendall Winters had a 6-0 win over ESU at the No. 3 flight after falling 7-5 to Edinboro.
 
Junior Corinne Markovich and freshman Jade Miller won three games against Cal and four games against Edinboro in the No. 1 flight.
 
In singles, Miller battled back to a tiebreak-victory over ESU in her second match of the day in the No. 3 flight, while Kalist had a tiebreak-victory over Edinboro in the No. 6 flight.
 
Action resumes Sunday morning with the completion of singles matches from today.
