SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's swimming team competed and won its Senior Day dual meet Friday afternoon against Edinboro, 110-92, at Donald N. Miller Pool.
 
The Raiders honored eight seniors before the meet started: Marissa Bittner, Michaela Hersh, Rachel Johnston, Allie Keeling, Jordyn Kendig, Sammy Taylor, Alyssa Tomb and Lexington Wagner.
 
SU opened the meet with the team of Bittner, freshman Jazz Barry, sophomore Makennah Fickett, and freshman Michelle Kubiak winning the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:51.23.
 
Barry won two individual events on the day, taking the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming times of 24.76 and 1:07.81 respectively.
 
Tomb paced the pool in the 400-yard IM, winning with a time of 4:45.67. Junior Gracie Wetzel touched the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 56.36 seconds.
 
Keeling and Kubiak competed in the 500-yard and 200-yard freestyle, with Keeling taking first in the 500 and Kubiak second with times of 5:25.75 and 5:26.71. Kubiak placed second in the 200 freestyle, swimming a time of 2:00.40, while Keeling took third with a time of 2:02.84.
 
The quartet of junior Lauren Croll, Wetzel, Fickett, and Taylor took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.26. Freshman Carol Fabian achieved a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifier in the 1,650-yard freestyle, swimming 19:15.28.
 
The Raiders will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Navy Invitational.
