SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team could not slow down visiting Millersville in the middle quarters on Wednesday night, dropping a 63-52 decision to the Marauders in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division contest at Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (2-12, 1-7) was tied with Millersville (5-8, 3-4), 12-12, with nine minutes left in the first half, when the Marauders used a 13-2 run to gain a double-digit advantage. The visitors scored 19 points in the second quarter and 20 points in the third quarter to take control of the contest.
Graduate
Treasure George was the only Raider in double figures on the night, scoring 17 points on an efficient 6-of-9 shooting performance that included 3-of-4 from three-point range. Her first three-pointer of the night marked the 100th three-pointer of her career.
Freshman
Mia Johnson provided a solid performance off the bench, particularly in the second half. Johnson finished with nine points, just one off her career high, on 3-of-5 shooting and 3-of-3 at the free-throw line.
Senior
Carolina Rodriguez Sanchez led all players with 12 rebounds, her most as a Raider and the second time this season she has grabbed double-digit rebounds. Rodriguez Sanchez and junior

Junior
Taja Colbert had four points, four rebounds and a team-high three assists. Sophomore
Makayla Foddrell contributed four points and equaled a career high with two steals.
Millersville received excellent performances from La'shyra Williams and Jabria Ingram; the duo combined to shoot 15-of-17 from the field and scored 34 points. Williams was 9-of-10 from the field and made all four of her free-throw attempts to finish with a game-high 22 points; she added six rebounds and two steals. Ingram was 6-of-7 from the field; she had 12 points and a game-high six assists.
The Marauders also got nine points and nine rebounds from Makiah Shaw, while Brenna Ortwein had six points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. The visitors shot 43 percent from the field overall and 55 percent (16-of-29) in the middle quarters. Ville also out-rebounded the Raiders 44-34, blocked nine shots and posted a 36-18 advantage in the paint.
Shippensburg's next game is 1 p.m. Saturday at Kutztown.
