SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The No. 2 Shippensburg University field hockey team scored three goals in a four-minute span in the fourth quarter to defeat Frostburg St. on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Robb Sports Complex, 5-1.

Shippensburg (8-2) supplemented early goals from sophomore
Agus Garibaldi and sophomore
Taryn Mayer with two fourth-quarter tallies from junior
Tess Jedeloo and one from junior
Yasmin De Meyer to wrap up the team's nonconference schedule with a resounding victory.

Frostburg State (6-4) tied the game in the first half with a goal from Mariana Day and remained within striking distance for much of the game thanks to goalkeeper Zoe Barnes' 13 saves.

A Jedeloo smash off an insert from sophomore
Savannah Silvestre opened the fourth quarter floodgates. Quick counterattack strikes from De Meyer and Jedeloo followed, both resulting from Garibaldi's outstanding vision and pinpoint passing from midfield.

Garibaldi added to her two assists with a reverse hit goal to open the scoring in the second quarter. Mayer slammed home a reverse of her own just moments after the Bobcats tied it.

The Raiders earned a season-high 13 penalty corners in the victory, taking the penalty corner edge by a wide 13-to-5 margin.
