SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The No. 2 Shippensburg University field hockey team scored three goals in a four-minute span in the fourth quarter to defeat Frostburg St. on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Robb Sports Complex, 5-1.

Shippensburg (8-2) supplemented early goals from sophomore Agus Garibaldi and sophomore Taryn Mayer with two fourth-quarter tallies from junior Tess Jedeloo and one from junior Yasmin De Meyer to wrap up the team's nonconference schedule with a resounding victory.

Frostburg State (6-4) tied the game in the first half with a goal from Mariana Day and remained within striking distance for much of the game thanks to goalkeeper Zoe Barnes' 13 saves.

A Jedeloo smash off an insert from sophomore Savannah Silvestre opened the fourth quarter floodgates. Quick counterattack strikes from De Meyer and Jedeloo followed, both resulting from Garibaldi's outstanding vision and pinpoint passing from midfield.

Garibaldi added to her two assists with a reverse hit goal to open the scoring in the second quarter. Mayer slammed home a reverse of her own just moments after the Bobcats tied it.

The Raiders earned a season-high 13 penalty corners in the victory, taking the penalty corner edge by a wide 13-to-5 margin.

Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Emma Albee was credited with four saves.

Shippensburg returns to action with a home tilt against No. 5 West Chester Wednesday at 3 p.m.
