SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University men's swimming alumnus Evan Anthony '19 has been named the head women's swimming coach at fellow Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) school Millersville University.
Anthony competed for the Raiders from 2015-19, specializing in freestyle. He was a four-year PSAC Scholar Athlete.
A native of Lititz and a graduate of Warwick High School, Anthony was a district qualifier for the Warriors under head coach Mark Daum.
After graduating cum laude from Shippensburg in 2019 with a degree in mathematics, secondary education certification and a minor in coaching, Anthony went to Wingate University where he was a sprints coach and a recruiter for one of the top programs in NCAA Division II. At the 2021 NCAA Division II Championships, Wingate's women's team finished sixth and the men's team finished seventh.
Anthony earned his master's degree in sports management from Wingate in 2021 and then joined the coaching staff at Villanova, where he was a member of the 2022 and 2023 Big East Coaching Staff of the Year and part of back-to-back Big East Championships. In addition to coaching with the Wildcats, Anthony served as the director of international recruiting.
