Eric Bohenek were named to the 2023 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division II Atlantic Region All-Defensive Team Thursday.
Calamia was one of three outfielders named to the Atlantic Region All-Defensive Team, while Bohenek was tabbed as the region's top defensive pitcher. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America Committee.
Calamia, the Raiders' centerfielder, covered a ton of ground in the outfield and showed a penchant for making the spectacular diving catch. In 134 total chances, Calamia committed just three errors (.985 fielding percentage) and tallied three outfield assists.
At the dish, Calamia contributed a .291 batting average and a .374 on-base percentage hitting mostly at or near the top of the Raider lineup.
Bohenek, meanwhile, did not commit an error during the 2023 season (1.000 fielding percentage), recording 11 assists and four putouts.
On the mound, the sidewinding right-hander emerged from his initial role of weekday starter and long man out of the Raider bullpen to become one of the club's most reliable arms.
Bohenek led all qualified Raider pitchers with a 4.71 earned run average and a 7-3 record. His 63 innings pitched were the second highest total on the SU staff.
