SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team travels to Slippery Rock this week for the 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Baseball Championships, scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday at Jack Critchfield Park.
Â
The Raiders face the Western Division No. 1 seed, Seton Hill, in their opening game at 1 p.m. Shippensburg and Seton Hill met once this season in a non-conference matchup in which the Griffins won 6-2 after taking the lead in the ninth inning.
Â
The last postseason meeting between these two teams was the semifinal of the 2018 PSAC Championships, a game in which Seton Hill won 11-1 en route to winning the PSAC Championship.
Â
Day 1 will consist of four win-or-go-home games to narrow the field to four teams. From there, the tournament becomes double elimination format.
Â
This is the second consecutive tournament appearance for the Raiders and the 11th under head coach
Matt Jones. The Raiders are 12-17 in the PSAC Tournament under Jones. SU is seeking its first conference championship since 2007.
