GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team was eliminated from the NCAA tournament on Friday afternoon by East Stroudsburg, 20-4, at the SHU Baseball Complex.

Shippensburg (27-25) recorded four runs on six hits.

East Stroudsburg (36-13) plated 20 runs off 16 hits and faces the loser of Seton Hill/Mercyhurst.

The Raiders posted four runs across the final two innings. Sophomore
Gio Calamia broke the Warriors' shutout with an RBI groundout to score freshman
Mike Heckman.

Carter Arbuthnot and
Carter Hinds each scored runs in the ninth.

Graduate
Justin Byler went 3-for-4 on the day, including a double in the first inning.

Sophomore
Bryce Herb also went 3-for-4 from the plate, with an RBI single to center field in the eighth.

Hinds extended his hitting streak to 17 games, the Raiders' longest hitting streak since Chad Stecker's 22-game hitting streak in 2004.

Graduate
Noah Nabholz picked up the loss and finished the season with a 7-6 record. He finishes his college career with a record of 17-10. Nabholz ends his career with 146 strikeouts and an ERA of 5.23.

Junior
Austen LaBarre threw three innings of relief, striking out two batters. LaBarre ends his career in the top ten in program history in saves with 13.

The Raiders end the 2023 season after making the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time under Head Coach
Matt Jones. SU made the PSAC Tournament for the 11
th time since 2007. Shippensburg's 27 wins is the most since the 2018 season. The Raiders have hit the 25-win mark in 18 of the last 25 seasons.
