The Shippensburg University women's outdoor track & field team continued its participation in the three-day Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday with competition in some distance events on the track and some field events.

Sara McKean, a NCAA Championships qualifier indoors in the long jump this season, continued her bid for a trip to outdoor nationals with a huge PR of 19 feet, 5 ¼ inches (5.92 meters) that enhances her league-leading position and puts her on the Top 20 of the national leaderboard. Sasha Lee had a top long jump of 18 feet, 1 ¾ inches.

It was an exceptional jumps sequence for McKean -- who successfully landed all six attempts and all of them ranged between 18 feet, 10 ¾ inches (5.76 meters) and her top mark.

Kelsey Hull placed sixth in the afternoon session of the 1,500 meters, delivering a time of 4:46.28 that improves her season best by more than three seconds. It was also one of a handful of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Championships qualifying marks on the day for the Raiders.

Nicola Puggé; completed the "blue" section of the heptathlon with a second-place score of 4,240 points – just 42 points off her personal best set at last year's Bison Outdoor Classic. Puggé recorded a PR in the javelin throw with the top mark of the competition – 122 feet, 11 inches (37.46 meters).

Macy Hines and Kyli Moon-Rumsey completed the heptathlon with respective scores of 3,738 points and 3,723 points. Moon-Rumsey (2:38.57) and Hines (2:40.90) ran 4-5 in the 800 meters that completed the multis.

In the discus, Makayla Decker and ShanAnn Simmons notched conference qualifiers. Decker threw the discus 126 feet, 8 inches, improving her best by nearly three feet, while Simmons had a long toss of 124 feet, 1 inch that signified a five-foot personal best.
