SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team concluded its final non-conference series before Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play with a pair of victories Sunday over Le Moyne, 4-3 and 5-4 (8 innings), at Fairchild Field.

Shippensburg (12-5) totaled 11 hits across two games, highlighted by a walk-off single to left field by sophomore
Gio Calamia in Game 2. The SU pitching staff punched out 13 batters while allowing just three walks.

Le Moyne (5-7) rallied to erase a three-run deficit in the top of the seventh before falling in extra innings in Game 2.

Shippensburg will return to Fairchild Field on Friday as it begins conference play against West Chester for a nine-inning ballgame beginning at 2 p.m.

Game 1: Shippensburg 4, Le Moyne 3

The Raiders fell behind in the bottom of the third as Andrew Roden notched a two-RBI single to put the Dolphins on the board.

Adam Sullivan extended Le Moyne's lead to 3-0 after blasting a shot over the left field wall in the fifth frame.

SU began its comeback in the bottom of the fifth as junior
Joe Barbera scored on a sacrifice fly from sophomore
Gio Calamia.

The following inning saw Shippensburg rattle off three consecutive RBI-singles to take a 4-3 lead late in the contest.

Austen LaBarre came in to close out the seventh inning, going three up and three down to earn the save.

Freshman
J.T. Weaver continued to impress on the mound for the Raiders picking up his fourth win of the season with seven strikeouts and two walks in six innings pitched.

Game 2: Shippensburg 5, Le Moyne 4 (8 Innings)

SU jumped out to an early lead in the second leg of the doubleheader with junior
Austin Baal (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra (Middle Tennessee State)) lining an single into shallow left field, giving Calamia the opportunity to turn on the jets and score from second.

A wild pitch in the subsequent at-bat allowed graduate
Justin Byler to score the second run of the game.

Andrew Chronister brought in Shippensburg's third run of the first frame with a sacrifice fly.

The next four innings were a defensive showdown, with just four combined hits. The defensive stretch was highlighted by the Raiders in the top of the fourth as Calamia made a spectacular diving catch in left center field before redshirt-freshman
Eric Bohenek struck out two batters to retire the side.

Le Moyne and SU traded a pair of runs in the sixth leading to a 4-1 Shippensburg lead heading into the seventh inning.

A ground-rule double from Lukas Egenhauser brought the Dolphins within two before pinch-hitter Brody Keneston notched a two-RBI single to tie the game, leading to extra innings.

A 1-2-3 inning in the eighth sent the Raiders back on the offensive. SU's first two batters reached on a hit-by-pitch and a throwing error from the third baseman, bringing Calamia to plate with a runner in scoring position. The center fielder lined a single through the left side walk-off Game 2.

Bohenek got the start for Shippensburg, striking out four and walking zero in 6.1 innings.

Jackson LoBianco the final five outs for Shippensburg to earn his first win of the year.

Calamia finished the series with a .467 batting average, going 7-for-15 at the plate.

Brock Piper lead SU in the doubleheader going 3-for-5, including a double in Game 2.
