Box Score The Shippensburg University lacrosse team could not hang on as it fell to IUP, 11-5, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover contest Wednesday evening at George P. Miller Stadium.
Shippensburg (1-8) trailed IUP (6-3) by just two goals at halftime, and by only one goal to end the third quarter, but the Crimson Hawks pulled away in the final stretch.
Graduate
Hannah Seifried and sophomore
Sara Vosburg led the Raiders with two goals each. Seifried and freshman
Grace DeMarzio led with four draw controls each.
Freshman
Ali Pioli notched one goal, two groundballs and two draw controls. Sophomore
Francesca Picone had two caused turnovers and two groundballs.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Kayla Vosburg totaled 14 saves, her sixth double-digit save game of the season, and led the team with five groundballs.
IUP was led by Sarah Reustle, who scored three goals and added three caused turnovers and two draw controls.
Shippensburg returns to Robb Sports Complex Saturday to face No. 14 East Stroudsburg at 1 p.m.
