Carlos Carter was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-District Team Monday morning.
Â
Carter was tabbed for the Atlantic Region Second Team. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division II. There are 10 honorees (five First Team, five Second Team) from each of the nation's eight districts.
Â
He is the first Raider to be recognized by the NABC since
Jake Biss and John Castello were each named to the All-District Team following the 2019-20 season.
Â
The All-District Team represents another postseason honor for Carter, who had already been heralded as the 2022-23 PSAC Eastern Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Year, a PSAC East First Team selection and D2CCA First Team All-Region.
Â
Carter scored at incredible volume and efficiency for the Raiders this past season, finishing second in the conference in scoring at 18.4 points per game.
Â
Carter shot 46.6% from the field and 36.4% from three in 30 contests. He scored 20 or more points 14 times, including a six consecutive game stretch during the month of February. He scored 30 or more points on three occasions, highlighted by a career-high 33 points in the Raiders' 75-59 win over Slippery Rock Dec. 3.
Â
His 36.3 minutes per game ranked second in the conference, and he finished in a multi-way tie for fifth in the PSAC with 2.1 three-pointers per game.
Â
He finished his collegiate career with 1,339 points, which ranks him 15th best in Raider history.
Â
Carter helped the Raiders to a 19-11 overall record, a PSAC Eastern Division Co-Championship and a PSAC Tournament semifinal berth in 2022-23.
