Shippensburg University junior Andrew Chronister was tabbed as the inaugural NCBWA Atlantic Region Hitter of the Week for the 2023 season Tuesday.
 
The Raider backstop began the campaign with multi-hit performances in each game of SU's three-game set against Catawba in Salisbury, North Carolina this past weekend.
 
Chronister posted a .462 batting average and .533 on base percentage in 15 plate appearances, with four extra-base hits (three doubles, one home run), five runs scored and three RBIs.
 
The weekend was highlighted by Chronister's first collegiate home run, a two-run shot that lifted the Raiders to a 12-9 win at Catawba Feb. 5.
