COMPLETE RESULTS

The Shippensburg University women's indoor track & field team ventured to East Stroudsburg's Koehler Fieldhouse on Sunday to compete in the 2023 DeSchriver Invitational.

Multiple Raiders achieved season bests, and three of the team's performances met the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) automatic qualifying standards in their respective events.

Among the most noteworthy was a new PR in the weight throw for Ashley Adams, who placed fifth on a top mark of 48 feet, 11 inches. It was a PR of more than four feet for Adams, who moved into the Top 10 of the conference leaderboard for the event. Adams also recorded a PR in the shot put.

Ellie Kuhn successfully cleared 10 feet, 6 inches in the pole vault, just ¼ inch off her season best that was achieved last time out at Bucknell. It is the second straight meet that Kuhn has cleared 10-6 in the pole vault, as her previous collegiate indoor PR prior to last week had been 10 feet, 4 inches.

Allyson Richwine tied for third in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5 feet, 1 inch.

Two Raiders were victorious in track events on Sunday. Melanie Barger completed the 55-meter hurdles in 9.00 seconds, while Belle Weikert crossed the finish line first in the 5K with a time of 19:07.06.

Shippensburg has a big weekend ahead, as one group of Raiders will head to Boston on Friday for a two-day meet and another faction will travel to Alvernia on Saturday.

Note: Donovan Hart was the only member of the men's team to compete on Sunday. He finished third in the high jump on a top clearance of 5 feet, 10 ¾ inches (1.80 meters).
