The Shippensburg women's basketball dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup at Slippery Rock on Tuesday evening, 49-32, at Morrow Field House.

The Raider defense held SRU to a scoring drought over the final 5:56 of the first quarter, but neither side could get much offense going with the quarter ending 13-6 in The Rock's favor.
A nine-minute scoring drought for SU during the second frame allowed SRU to pull to a 27-9 halftime lead. Senior
Carolina Rodriguez Sanchez scored on SU's first possession, its only basket of the quarter. SRU shot 42.9 percent from the field and 6-of-13 from behind the arc in the half. The Raiders shot 4-of-25 from the field.
Shippensburg looked to chip away at the deficit, cutting its deficit to 12 points midway through the third, but an 11-3 scoring run extended the SRU lead to 21 points heading into the fourth.
George led the Raiders with 12 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. The Raiders out-rebounded the Rock, 35-28. Chimienti added eight points and five rebounds. Rodriguez Sanchez finished with six points and five rebounds in her first start as a Raider.
Regan Atkins led all scorers with 19 points for SRU.
Shippensburg is next in action Saturday, Dec. 30 when it hosts Edinboro at 1 p.m. at Heiges Field House.
