Freshman Jazz Barry and senior Alyssa Tomb posted individual event victories Friday as the Shippensburg University women's swimming team dropped a dual meet at Clarion, 135-70.
 
Barry posted the top time in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 25.03 seconds. Tomb was tops in the 200-yard breaststroke, besting the field by nearly three full seconds with a time of 2:32.52. She was also the runner-up in the 200-yard IM, swimming 2:15.96.
 
Senior Michaela Hersh finished second in the 200-yard butterfly, swimming 2:15.67. Sophomore Makennah Fickett was the runner-up in the 200-yard backstroke, swimming 2:13.67, while freshman Michelle Kubiak took second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:27.96.
 
Shippensburg will return to action in two weeks with its first big invitational meet of the season, competing for three days at Franklin & Marshall College.
