The Shippensburg University wrestling team defeated host Waynesburg on Saturday to cap off three dual meets at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
 
The Raiders fell to Lycoming, 35-20, and to Averett, 40-12, before besting the Yellowjackets, 44-12. SU was shorthanded in most of its duals and had several grapplers wrestle up in the finale against Waynesburg.
 
Andrew Wert continued his excellent start to the season with a pin against Averett a pair of first-period technical falls.
 
Owen Koch also went 3-0 on the day, pinning Lycoming's James Ellis in 4:11, pinning Averett's Nolan Gerwitz, and winning by 10-3 decision against Waynesburg's Jessie Orbin.
 
Trey Shoemaker went 2-0, pinning Lycoming's Gable Crebs in 4:13 and Waynesburg's Ayden Bishoff in 1:21. Fellow Mifflin County native Kyler Everly won two of his three bouts at 165 pounds, including an 8-6 decision against Lycoming's Chase Chapman and a pin of Waynesburg's Nash Bloom in 1:36.
 
Other highlights against Waynesburg included pins for Anthony Lavish at 157 pounds, Liam Bostrom at 174 pounds and Connor Livingston at heavyweight.
 
Shippensburg's next competition is after Thanksgiving, as the Raiders will host Kutztown on Wednesday, Dec. 6 for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) dual meet at Heiges Field House.
