Gallery: (11-18-2023) 2023 Men's XC at NCAA Championships
The Shippensburg University men's cross country team completed its 2023 season on Saturday at the NCAA Division II National Championships hosted by Missouri Southern State on the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin.
Sophomore
Garrett Quinan paced the Raiders with an excellent 10,000-meter run of 30:47.9 – resulting in a 66th-place finish.
Graduate
Hayden Hunt ran at nationals for the second time in his career and finished as Shippensburg's No. 2 runner, completing the course in 32:06.9 for a 188th-place finish.
Senior
Aiden Gonder served as the No. 3 Raider runner, crossing the finish line in 32:23.5. Graduate
Nathan Harding was the team's fourth scorer, running 32:34, and senior
Kevin Wagner was the team's final scoring runner with a time of 33:03.7.
Sophomore
Ryan Wolfe and junior
Ian Sherlock each posted times of 33:52.
Saturday marked the 10th NCAA National Championships appearance in the last 15 seasons under head coach
Steve Spence. It was Shippensburg's 22nd NCAA National Championships appearance in school history.
The other Atlantic Region teams competition Saturday were Charleston (17th) and Davis & Elkins (28th). Individual runners from the Atlantic Region were Concord's Logan Zucchelli (131st, 31:31.7), Slippery Rock's
Joey Cintavey (151st, 31:45.8) and Slippery Rock's Ethan Brentham (183rd, 32:01.2).
