The Shippensburg University women's swimming team won six of the 12 individual events contested Saturday in a dual meet at Bloomsburg. The Huskies claimed the dual meet by a score of 141.5 to 119.5.
 
Senior Alyssa Tomb and first-year Jazz Barry each won a pair of events. Tomb had a particularly impressive day – claiming gold in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:33.96 and in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:45.62. Both performances satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standard – SU finished the meet with five PSAC cuts.
 
Barry delivered one of those conference qualifiers with her win in the 100-yard breaststroke, swimming 1:09.24. She also won the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall first in the sprint with a time of 25.84 seconds.
 
Senior Michaela Hersh won the 200-yard butterfly with a strong early-season time of 2:17.92; she also finished second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.57.
 
Junior Allie Keeling began the meet with a victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle, swimming 11:16.19, while first-year Michelle Kubiak finished second in 11:19.64. Sophomore transfer Makennah Fickett finished second in the 200-yard backstroke with a PSAC cut of 2:15.27.
 
Shippensburg will have its home opener Wednesday night against IUP from Donald N. Miller Pool.
