The Shippensburg University men's swimming team won four individual events contested Saturday in a dual meet at Bloomsburg. The Huskies rode their depth to a 165-88 victory.
 
Shippensburg received several noteworthy performances, with one of the most impressive being the 100-yard butterfly turned in by freshman Mason Koeth. His victorious time of 51.66 seconds was just .23 seconds from cracking SU's all-time Top 10 in the event. It was also one of eight individual performances on the day by the Raiders that satisfied the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standards.
 
Koeth also notched a PSAC cut in the 200-yard butterfly, placing third in 1:57.89, and swam on both Raider relays.
 
David Johnson placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:23.40) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:59.40), posting PSAC cuts in both events.
 
First-year Robbie Ferlick won both sprint freestyle swims with conference cuts, completing the 50-yard freestyle in 21.83 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 48.17 seconds. Matthew Beard also impressed in the 50-yard freestyle with a PSAC qualifier of 22.37 seconds.
 
Senior Michael Salvatori showed his range with a victory in the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a PSAC qualifier of 1:57.29, and later placing second in the 400-yard IM with a PSAC qualifier of 4:21.51.
 
The meet concluded with Koeth, Zaidian Van Orden, Nathan VanNatter and Ferlick finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle relay and a time of 1:27.81.
 
Shippensburg will have its home opener Wednesday night against IUP from Donald N. Miller Pool.
